This brought tears to my eyes. You are amazing Mrs. Boyle. May your dreams become exceedingly true.
Welcome to the Kennedy family blog!
March.
I love hitting the March first marker. It means we have made it through winter. The signs of spring are all around us. That fresh new smell breezes through the air. The heat of the sun holds a warmth that brings the squishy ground below our muddy feet to life. Friends emerge on the sidewalks outside and the conversations begin with “Isn’t this great!”
We just arrived home from California. What a crazy trip! With planes breaking down and flights being shuffled around and the kids getting sick unique opportunities sprang up which added a joy to help overcome the struggles. For example, an extra night with Nana and Papa C (although be it short) was a warm stop over. A couple of hours with Justin driving around Aptos gave us a chance to talk that otherwise would not have happened.
I am not sure when we will make the journey out west again. Traveling with a one year old is tough for everyone including those sitting nearby on the plane. But the conversations and laughter place a longing in our hearts for more time with family, as there is nothing on earth which compares.
I wanted to post quick before we move into the next events of the year. Much will be happening in the months to come. The G.P.’s will be here for a couple weeks. We will begin the process of selling our home. Beth may accept a position in MN. Sydney is starting to show his personality. I look forward to sharing with you in all of it. Thanks for coming along for the ride!
Spring has sprung the excitement of 2009 has begun!
A day in history...
Since I am living in DC, I knew I had to go to Mr. Obama’s inauguration. I woke up at 3am and started layering up. I knew it was going to be freezing. I rushed to get to the Metro Station and jumped on the first train the second the door opened. When I finally got off the sardine packed metro, I got in line to the security check. Now try to imagine a line 3 city blocks long, packed so tightly you cannot move your feet except for a short shuffle forward. My legs ached and I was numb from cold. There were moments when I would pick my feet off the ground and stay up in the air from the force of other bodies around me.
I didn’t make it in for the speech. I could hear his voice like a train from a distance. But, I was thrilled to experience the Parade. Right in front of me, the long limo slowly rolled to a stop. The door opened and out walked President Obama and his wife. They raised their hands and waved my direction. Every one was cheering wildly, smiling and hugging.
At that moment, it hit me how much power he has, not just because he is president but because the people love him and the people will listen to whatever he says.
I did have the feeling of hope, but not the way you may think. I hope he doesn’t disappoint them or me. I hope he does not abuse his power. He and we have the chance to do something incredible for this nation or it will be an epic failure.
I think this because our nation is going through a difficult time and being from Michigan, I know full well the worst of it. If we don’t truly come together as a nation and start helping the poor and thinking and loving others as we do our selves our nation will fall. If we can learn how to serve rather then be served we will all be a lot better people. What we do with the space we occupy is the space of change or failure. If we can work on the things we agree on rather then trying to change the things we don’t agree on, I believe we can be much, much more productive. My generation needs to remember how to actually work and work hard from the bottom up and not expect to have the high paying jobs right out of collage. True leaders, lead from experiences that build character. You can always recognize a leader. He is the one with the people following him.
just some thoughts…

Sean’s cousin Quinn sent over a few pictures of her new shoes. Sean loved those pictures and they became quite the inspiration for her. So much so that when she found a pair in her closet and put them on we could hardly get them off of her feet! Here are a few pictures of Quinn and Sean modeling their new shoes.
Sydney is a week old today! We celebrated with ice cream at lunch and Beth and I are going out with him TONIGHT! (Thank you, KANDIN!) So here are a few photo’s capturing Sydney’s first week of life. He is pretty sleepy during the day which makes for some restless nights for Beth. When he is awake there is great exuberance from Seth and Sean as they like to have him apart of whatever they are doing.
Well, enjoy the pics!
Here is a little clip of our visit to the hospital the day after Sydney was born. You can’t see the snow out side blowing or feel the frigid tempts that they made the walk from the parking deck to the inside hospital miserable, but we hope you do feel the love Seth and Sean’s hold for their new baby brother!
Today is a special day for us. We began it as a family of four and ended it as a family of five! Tears, joy and laughter - ushered in Sydney Kamm, a son, into our lives this morning at 9:30. In the words of Seth, “It is good to have you here!” Come on and check out a few moments caught on film with us….
THIS IS NO TIME TO BE POSTING TO THE BLOG!! BETH IS CONTRACTING REGULARLY AND FAST GET GOING AND GET EVERYONE INTO THE VAN! NOW!!! GO!
